Leather somewhat scuffed, scraped; boards worn. Dr. James Clarke White's bookplate to front pastedown and his ink ownership to first blank recto. Hinges starting, offset tanning to endpapers. Ink numeral to title page. Occasional light foxing and some toning to text. White (1833-1916) was a chemist, professor of dermatology at Harvard, and former physician to Massachusetts General Hospital. .
