[Edison, Thomas and patent for his electric light]] - New York Tribune (March 4, 1879)

1879. First Edition. 0 pp. Disbound. Very good, original and complete newspaper. Tanning to pages, mild wear to spine where disbound, few short tears to foredge and bottom edge, some soiling to back page. The following articles: Edison's patent in London for his "electric light" (P. 5) plus paragraph on "Carbon and the Electric Light" as proposed by M. Alf. Niaudet; condemnation by Senator Zach Chandler on Senate floor of pension for Jefferson Davis and the shame of "eulogies upon Jefferson Davis living" being presented in the very body that he was traitor to (the Senate) A transcript of his speech is given on p. 7. Also, article about how Harvard professors may be taking on female students to supplement their low salaries. Women would not be granted a degree from Harvard, just a certificate. Very Good.
