Ardizzone's diary begins with Sicily in 1943 and carries through to the mopping-up in Germany in 1945. The striking wrap-around dustwrapper illustration reproduces 'Naval Control Post on the beaches of Normandy, 1944'. SCARCE IN THIS CONDITION.
