Side stapled journal. 8 ½ by 11 inches. 51 pp. A few black and white photos throughout, depicting Native American schoolchildren, as well as their art. Indians At Work was a publication that was started to show the work of the Civilian Conservation Corps Indian Division. It was published from 1933 to 1945. This issue with pieces on Navajo blanket weaving; manners and customs of some of the Western tribes; Pushmataha, the Choctaw Chieftan; progress on the Muckleshoot Reservation; the death of Sitting Bull; some social customs of the Modern Seneca, etc. GOOD condition. Heavy dampstaining along the left edge of the journal, with moderate offsetting along the spine and fore edge. Light dampstaining along the other edges. Minor soiling and toning. Just a hint of dampstaining along the top edge of the interior. Good .
