Features Book II, Chps. 1-2 of Bulwer-Lytton serialized novel as well as fine illustrated articles: "Travel Notes in Bible Lands, No. IX" (cover story), "Our Excursions to the Fishing Banks" (pp. 500-501) with five humorous illustrations, and "Did She Poison Her Lover?" about the trial of Madeleine Smith with engravings of the woman and of the "Trial.in the Scotch Court of Sessions" (pp. 508-509).
