Earlier ed. published in 1750 under title: Traité des plaies d'armes à feu. Garrison-Morton 2154. *An important work covering the treatment of gunshot wounds, this edition is greatly different to the 1750 edition and some describe it therefore as a 1st editon. Ravaton was a notable military surgeon and wrote alongside this work "Ravaton wrote the longest volume ever published on the treatment of blade wounds in wartime". He was considered a pioneer of safe amputations, developing the "double flap method".
