POIRIN 5 Mai 1842" with double ruled gilt lines to both covers (corners worn to tips/spine sunned/lower cover bit marked but a handsome and sound binding) All Edges Gilt. Frontis + viii + 316pp including index. Pale mark of former damp to gutter, green silk bookmark still attached to headband, pastedowns with tan and orange marks but lacking free endpapers. *Twenty-four poems by poets in reply to an appeal to raise a literary monument to Napoleon.
