These volumes can perhaps been seen as something of a precursor to '1066 And All That..' There are numerous illustrations with all contemporary figures dressed in the style of Medieval knights, monks etc and each volume has decorative endpapers. In full cloth binding. Externally smart. There is some wear to the extremities including marks and staining to the boards, fading and discolouration, bumping to the corners and fraying to the spine. The decorated endpapers in the first volume are slightly discoloured. The hinge of the third volume is strained but holding. Internally firmly bound.
