One of three hundred copies printed to be signed by the author. A collection of biographies of famous persons to be considered "rakes", a historic term applied to men of immoral conduct. The most famous examples of rakish behaviour comes from the Hell Fire Club in the eighteenth century of which Sir Francis Dashwood was a key member. In cloth bindings with paper covered boards. Externally, generally smart with some rubbing and bumping. Spines sunned. rear joint cracked to volume IV with loss and lifting to spine. Internally, firmly bound.
