Philip Gilbert Hamerton (September 10, 1834 – November 4, 1894), was an English artist and art critic and author. With bookplate of Nottingham Subscription Library to front pastedowns. Including seventy-six plates (collated complete) and numerous illustrations in the text. Complete in four volumes. In a half-morocco binding. Externally rubbed, though with joints starting. Internally, binding slightly strained. Some tissue-guards are detached. Pages are quite bright and mainly clean, with just the odd spot. One plate detached.
