Antique print with monument for the French general Pichegru. With statue of Freedom and a putti with the portrait of Pichegru. Parts of the print, such as the Putti, the statue and Pichegru are handcoloured.Made by Jacobus Wijsman after the drawing of Daniël Kerkhoff. Made in 1795.[NL] Allegorisch monument voor de Franse generaal Pichegru. Centraal een standbeeld van de Vrijheid, bovenaan putti met een portret van Pichegru. Aan weerszijden cartouches met episodes uit de inval van de Fransen in 1795: het oversteken van de Waal en binnentrekken van Utrecht en Amsterdam. Over de inval van de Franse troepen in Nederland onder leiding van Pichegru. Waal, Amsterdam, Utrecht, Jean Charles Pichegru. Etching and engraving, mentioned on the bottom: Proefdruk. Blue round stamps on three corners. Cut to the platemark. Due to the handcoloured parts of the print, some blue ink has left traces on the back of the print. Muller 5288. 380 x 310 mm.
