It is still relevant and interesting even after more than half a millennium. Emperor Maximilian I was not only a great knight and ruler, but also an enthusiastic hunter and fisherman. Under his leadership, intensive efforts were made to stock, manage and use the fish stocks. The motive for these measures was, on the one hand, the pleasure of fishing and, on the other hand, the use of the fish stocks to feed the sovereign and his entourage. This reproduction of Maximilian I's fishing book includes the facsimile of the original, which is now in the Austrian National Library in Vienna (Codex 7962), as well as a comprehensive description. The book is in very good condition
