Pictorial boards with color photo of wharf buildings. Number 45 in "classics of all ages" series. Text fully in Japanese. Photo section at front with full color 1960s pictures including: Steinbeck posed portrait with rifles over mantle, Victorian house on Stone St. crop fields, Pacific coast, civic buildings, road through rocky country, sardine cannery, cotton pickers, Steinbeck theatre, with captions in Japanese, relate more to full career of Steinbeck than text at hand, but interesting format. Also a line drawing map with Japanese text of Western USA with routes from OK to CA highway numbers etc. Also line drawing illustrations in text that do relate to story. VG with no dust wrapper, paper boards are sharp cornered, a touch of shelfwear and flyspecking. Interesting and seemingly scarce book!. Very Good.
