 1568877525,
London, Handwritten, 1831. Leather. A volume of handwritten poetry by 'Fanny' to her sister Mary Crofton, dated 1831 from Cadogan Place in London. The poems are neatly written, sometimes in a portrait and sometimes a landscape orientation. They generally cover romantic and religious themes. The dedication to the front free endpaper reads: Maria Crofton, from her affectionate sister Fanny, 28th Decbr [sic] 1831 Cadogan Place - 60. Presented in a full calf binding with attractive gilt work to the boards and to the edges. A completely unique work, and a small window into 19th century society. The tail of the spine up to the top of the first band has been lost. The joints are starting but firm. Internally, Generally firmly bound. Pages are generally bright and clean, with the occasional spot here and there. Occasionally different types of paper have been used for transcription, which have then been bound into the whole.
