The Chambers brothers were influential in the mid-19th century, in both scientific and political circles. Illustrated with various engravings throughout. In a half-calf binding with cloth boards and gilt lettering to spine. Externally a trifle rubbed with wear to the extremities. Library bookplate to front pastedown. Front hinge has failed, resulting in the first few pages being held by cords only. Internally, generally firmly bound. Pages are clean throughout save for heavy spotting to the first and last as per usual. Good Only . Ill.: Unamed. Good Only .
