Educated at Oxford University, he was later made a fellow of Exeter College. Pursuing a career in law, Coleridge, eventually sitting on the Judicial Committee of the Privy Council. Throughout his career was also involved in literary pursuits, acting as the editor of the Quarterly Review, and later writing his memoirs. An very scarce work in a attractive leather binding. In a half-mottled-calf binding with marbled boards. Externally, sound, though with some rubbing to the extremities and a few marks. Internally, firmly bound.
