First Edition Making reference to much primary source material and replete with index, this excellent history will be of great interest to the student of Revolutionary history. Bound with original publisher's cloth boards and spine (bearing gilt vignette and lettering) mounted on thick leaves to rear of each volume. Rebound in half-calf. Very smart with some shelfwear only. Lovely blue patina with matching paper boards; gilt banding and lettering, and ridged spine. Light wear to extremities. Internally, very firmly bound with new endpapers. Very clean throughout. Fine .
