Light wear to spine, covers, corners & dustjacket. ; Octavo; x, 206 pages; Lovejoy Boteler is an American author and educator, born in 1950 in Grenada County, Mississippi. Raised on Riverdale Farms, his early life was marked by a traumatic event in 1968 when, at the age of eighteen, he was kidnapped by two escaped convicts from Parchman Penitentiary. This harrowing experience became the foundation for his book, Crooked Snake: The Life and Crimes of Albert Lepard, published in 2019. The book explores the life of his abductor, Albert Lepard, and provides a broader commentary on crime and justice in Mississippi. Boteler earned a music degree from Delta State University in 1973. His varied career has included working for the Mississippi legislature, serving as a deckhand on the Mississippi River, participating in a Colorado rodeo, and teaching both construction technology and instrumental music in public schools. In addition to his writing and teaching, he is also a skilled custom furniture builder.. New in New dust jacket .
