When she is delivering goods on a Sunday she meets a man who tells her it is wicked to work on a Sunday. Visiting with the fostermother this man and a Methodist woman convinces the females but not Coster Jack and in argument he hits the child and thinks he has killed her. The struggle to keep Sunday as a day of day of rest and his struggle against drunkeness are finally resolved.
