A first edition of this account of Etta Shiber's experiences in the Paris Underground when Nazi Germany invaded in 1940. Prepared in collaboration with Anne and Paul Dupre, and Oscar Rey. Paris-Underground was made into a film in 1945 which was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Original Score for Alexandre Tansman's score (one of 21 nominations that year). In a beige cloth binding with lettering to the spine. Externally, sound with slight rubbing. Joints are starting but firm. Internally, generally firmly bound, though binding is loosening in places. Pages are generally bright and clean although end-papers are browned and age-toned. There is an ink inscription to the recto of front free-end paper.
