From the Preface: "the history of the Free Church congregation of Ayr has been a somewhat chequered and eventful one, with a not inconsiderable interest for even the outside reader." In original red cloth binding with gilt lettering to the spine. Externally, very smart. Some minor shelfwear to the boards. Some damage to the top and tail of the spine and corners slightly worn. There is no dustwrapper but covered with a see through wrapper. Front hinge is a little tender. Damage to recto of front free-end paper. Internally, generally firmly bound. Pages are generally clean and bright with some minor foxing. There is an ink inscription to the half-title page, dated 1898. Very Good . Ill.: Various. Very Good .
