Christopher Rowe was a schoolmaster in Norwich and then in Bristol. Throughout his career he inspired many to love literature, history and music. He was a specialist on 17th century printer and bookseller, Humphrey Moseley and began his, unfortunately unfinished, PhD dissertation on him. In a full limp morocco binding with gilt stamping to the spine and front board. Externally, smart with small patches of light rubbing to the joints and boards. Rubbing is slightly heavier to the spine. Prize book plate to front pastedown, School year 1934-5 awarded for general progress from Wembley County School. The name of the school and recipient have been crossed out by a prior owner. Another prior owner's initials to the verso of front endpaper, 'C M R' dated 1968. Internally, firmly bound.
