VG hardbacks . 1898 set of five volumes with B&W illustrations; tightly bound in blue cloth with gilt lettering to front and spine and black design to front; light wear to edges and corners; all spines slightly discoloured - also, vol.2 has a pale spot and vol.3 has a black ink spot. Top page fore-edges gilded; other fore-edges untrimmed and yellowed with some foxing. INternally, outer pages yellowed; a little yellowing elsewhere; otherwise, a clean, tidy set in VGC for its age.
