SIGNED copy Good hardback (no dust jacket) . 1942 1st edition with B&W illustrations; signed inscription by the author to Cuthbert Headlam on front free endpaper and owner's book plate on facing paste-down; tightly bound in slightly discoloured green cloth with gilt lettering to spine; small white mark on spine. Page fore-edges yellowed and foxed. Internally, foxing/discolouration to several pages but text not obscured; otherwise, a good, tidy copy.
