Good hardback . 1838 1st edition with B&W illustrations, each with a tissue guard; tightly bound in brown cloth with gilt lettering to spine; spine a little faded and some light discolouration marks to front and back; light wear to edges and corners and small tear to cloth at top of spine; slight bubbling to cloth on front panel. Page fore-edges browned. Internally, owner's book plate on front paste-down; foxing/discolouration to page edges and some other discolouration spots elsewhere; four pages of book advertisements at rear; overall, an old book in good, tidy condition.
