Presentation copy, inscribed and signed by Jean Shepherd on half-title page, with folded typewritten note from a radio friend (Richard) of Shepherd's - who is mentioned in the inscription - to the book's recipient. Corners very slightly bumped, but overall a clean, tidy copy in tight binding. Red cloth boards, black cloth spine with gilt lettering. Dust jacket not price-clipped; a bit yellowed and worn with some chipping at spine head & foot; protected in removable clear film. Contains some stories adapted for the film A Christmas Story.
