Good hardback . 1895 reissue with B&W illustrations by Chris Hammond; tightly bound in red cloth, blind-stamped with an intricate design, with gilt lettering to front and spine; spine slightly discoloured with scuffed, worn edges; corners lightly worn and bumped. Page fore-edges yellowed and untrimmed. Internally, endpapers discoloured; gift inscription on front free endpaper; foxing to title page, frontispiece and its tissue covering; blind-stamped with 'presentation copy' on title page; a few discolouration spots elsewhere, but otherwise, a good, tidy copy.
