Good hardback 1st Edition. 1906 1st edition with 16 beautiful colour illustrations by Minnie Dibdin Spooner (all checked and present); tightly bound in cream cloth with intricate gilt decorations and lettering to front and spine; spine worn and discoloured with a little wear to edges; back panel discoloured; corners bumped. Top page edges gilded; other page edges untrimmed and foxed. Internally, endpapers yellowed; paste-downs have small blobs of red sealing wax; gift inscription on half-title; some light foxing to outer pages; a few small discolouration spots elsewhere; some pencil annotations; a few tears to pages, some mended with sellotape (pp. 45-48), some with losses (p.153 and p.xv of Contents).
