A uniquely interesting Victorian cookery book, published with alternating pages of text & blank paper, with many press-clippings and a few hand-written recipes on the blank pages provided for that purpose. Some clippings browned, with offsetting onto text. Bound in dark brown pebbled cloth boards, with dark brown half-leather; raised bands on spine; gilt title on spine & front board. Re-backed, with new end papers; binding tight. Original title page rather dirty, with tears in title page & first page of preface repaired on verso with white paper.
