Extremely rare complete set of two books: One of engraved plates, accompanied by two volumes bound in one describing the plates: As published. Small size (approx 9cm x 10.5 cm) Full tan calf leather with slim gold borders. "Series of prints" has both boards detached, with small loss at corner of front board. Lacks front free end paper. Spine rubbed and worn. Tanning to page edges with light fox-blotching thorughout, but otherwise really quite bright pages for age. Previous owner's inscription appears to have been crudely rubbed out on front paste-down. Contains a series of 64 woodcuts comprising 7 each title Assyrian, Persian, Grecian, Roman & 32 in an untitled section. Printed in 1786 & 1788. "Description of a set of prints" has similarily damaged front pastedown, end papers browned at edges, worn at board edges, with loss to spine.
