A beautiful copy of the first French edition of Strutt's work on the costumes, armour and social life of medieval inhabitants of the British Isles, first published 1774-76. Joseph Strutt (1749-76) was an author, artist, antiquary, and engraver. Brunet v, p. 585 (incorrectly calling for 77 plates).
