The covers are rubbed and stained with some of the leather chipped from the spine. xl & 332 pages, illustrated with a full-page frontispiece portrait and 4 additional portraits of Thomas Bewick and profuse textual wood engravings, mostly by Thomas & John Bewick. The pages are unusually clean and bright. Very good. First edition. The Memoir and Descriptive Catalogue, found on pages v through xxxi, are by John Trotter Brockett. Very good .
