Delano de Lannoy, Mortimer (1869-1920). - A Rare Armorial Bookplate Designed by Mortimer Delano de Lannoy.![]() 1902. 1902. - An 8-1/4 inch high by 6-1/4 inch wide armorial bookplate illustrated with a zinc etching designed by Mortimer Delano de Lannoy. A central coat of arms with 2 unicorns flanking a shield topped with a unicorn's head protruding from a crown with banners and escutcheons along the top. The owner's genealogy is etched within decorative banners on both sides, with crossed swords pictured at the bottom of each banner. A decorative black frame surrounds the central image with a list of cities and regions in France & Belgium between 3 shields. Two more escutcheons in the form of shields are pictured at the bottom framing a banner within which is etched "Bonnes Nouvelles / Ex-Libris 1902 / Delano de Lannoy". Several of the shields are decorated with crowned lions. Fine.
