Bound in pictorial orange cloth stamped in purple with an illustration by Gorey, in a color pictorial dust wrapper titled in orange on the front panel and in black on the spine. The front folds of the dust jacket are very slightly rubbed with a couple of very tiny chips to the jacket's edges. Unpaginated, illustrated with pictorial endpapers & full-page black & white illustrations by Edward Gorey on the rectos and text by Muriel Spark on the verso. Near fine in a very good dust wrapper.

First edition, with no statement of edition. [Toledano B40a]. INSCRIBED by GOREY to BOB WILSON of the PHOENIX BOOKSHOP: 'For Bob / 24 November 1969 / Edward Gorey".
