The very scarce first edition of this work. In the publisher's original cloth backed boards, with the original price of 5s to the front board. Illustrated with eight plates (three of which are maps and one of which is detached but present) and one folding map, detached but present. Collated, complete. This guide offers accurate topographical descriptions for picturesque lakes and sceneries of England, including in Ambleside, Penrith and Keswick. With an itinerary illustrating the preferred routes taken by tourists alongside points of interest.  In the original cloth backed boards. Externally, with rubbing and bumping to the extremities, resulting in cloth coming away to the spine slightly. Slight fading to the spine. Internally, frontispiece and folding map detached but present, otherwise firmly bound. Pages are generally bright and clean, with the odd spot or handling mark, a tide mark to the front endpapers and pencil notes made to the rear endpapers. Good . Ill.: Not Stated. Good .
