D. Hooker. A limited print run of "a few copies for private circulation".A very scarce work, with just one copy held institutionally, at the Royal Botanical Gardens, Kew. A collection of ten short papers by leading British botanist and director at Royal Botanical Gardens Kew, William Turner Thiselton-Duer. These papers were originally published separately in the scientific journal 'Annals of Botany' in the early twentieth century. An association copy, signed by trailblazing botanist and explorer, J. D. Hooker, who served as the second director at the Royal Botanical Gardens, Kew. Thiselton-Dyer acted as assistant director at Kew under Hooker, subsequently becoming the third director at the prestigious gardens when Hooker stepped down. Comprising ten papers on various aspects of botany, including leaf-traces, abnormal fruits, the haustorium, and more. Each paper runs in the original pagination found in the journal, with the plates to each article included. Illustrated with thirteen plates to accompany the articles. Bound in the publisher's cloth. Externally, very good, with some rubbing to the backstrip head and tail, a little darkening to backstrip and a few marks to cloth. Note adhered to front paste down.
