The first thus with these illustrations, published the same year as a numbered limited edition of 100 copies. In the publisher's original cloth binding.This poem follows the antics of a mischievous jackdaw that interrupts a grand Catholic feast. It is one of the Ingoldsby Legends, which were a collection of myths and legends, supposedly written by Thomas Ingoldsby of Tappington Manor - the pen name of Richard Harris Barham.Illustrated by Charles Folkard, including twelve tipped-in colour plates and numerous drawings in-text. Collated, complete. In the original cloth binding. Externally, with fading to the cloth. Rubbing and bumping to the extremities. Front hinge is starting but firm. Internally, firmly bound.
