In this work Collier documents ten conversations on a number of poets, focusing on those prevalent during the reigns of Elizabeth and James I. Conversations mention Geoffrey Chaucer, Thomas Warton, Edward Spenser, and many others. With the bookplate of J. O. Edwards. Bound in full calf, with the boards rebacked. Retaining the half title, although half title is disbound to volume I and bound following the title page to volume II. Half title to volume I is chipped, with some loss to the extremities.
