First published in 1857, this is Flaubert's best known work, following the eponymous character who lives beyond her means in order to escape the banality of her provincial life. In the original half calf binding with marbled paper to the boards. Externally, generally smart, a little rubbed, more so to 'Trois Contes' and 'Madame Bovary&apos. Joints of 'Trois Contes' are starting but firm, as it the front joint of 'Madame Bovary&apos. Loss to the head of the spines of 'Trois Contes' and 'Madame Bovary&apos. Boards of 'Trois Contes' are a little faded. Rear hinge of 'Trois Contes' and 'Saint Antoine' are starting but firm. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean. Good . Ill.: None. Good .
