A very scarce edition of this work, one of only sixty-eight copies printed.Henryson offered a distinctive voice in the Northern Renaissance, at a time when the culture was on a cusp between medieval and renaissance sensibilities. He lived in Dunfermline, and may have been associated with Glasgow University.Reprinted from the Edition of Andrew Hart.With a bookplate to the front pastedown.Produced by the Scottish historical and literary club and text publication society, the Maitland Club, which was modelled on the Roxburghe Club and the Bannatyne Club. In a half morocco binding, with marbled paper covered boards. Significant rubbing to back strip head and tail and joints, with further light rubbing to board perimeters. Front hinge strained, but firmly held. Bookplate to front pastedown. Internally, firmly bound. Offsetting to gutter of pages 42-43, with pages otherwise clean and bright. Very Good .
