This copy is lacking the signature to the edition page. Bound in quarter velvet with paper to the boards. Illustrated with a monochrome frontispiece and six monochrome plates. This limited edition work features a paper by Frederick Keel on the music of the Elizabethan era, and was originally read before the 'Sette of the Odd Volumes' bibliophile society. Presented to the Sette by the publisher John Lane, this work covers the instruments used, musical terms and expressions, and popular songs. Bound in quarter velvet. Externally excellent with slight fading to the spine and the odd minimal mark to the boards. Rear hinge tender, with the odd spot and minor age toning to the endpapers, and an ink inscription to the front. Internally frontispiece and a plate tender and binding strained and in places.
