A delightful work of travel literature, a mixture of autobiography and imagined events, focused on the author's journey through south-western Germany.Illustrated with the second printing 'Titian's Moses' frontispiece, and a further three-hundred and fourteen vignette and full page illustrations by W. Bookplate to front paste down. Hinges are strained. Internally, title page-viii and page xvii-xxiii, 161-176 and 385-400 are disbound but present, with the remaining binding strained.
