The scarce first edition, corrected state with the first line to pp.19 corrected from 'Come then, sweet God of wishes', to 'Come then, sweet God of love', and with this being the variant which features the press figure 8 to the tail of pp.68. This play was written by Samuel Crisp, who is best known for this work. The play tells the tragic ancient Roman story of Appius and Virginia, and premiered at the Theatre Royal at Drury Lane. Disbound from the original covers and lacking title page.
