Written by Quintus Horatius Flaccus, known in the English-speaking world as Horace, the leading Roman lyric poet during the time of Augustus. Phaedri Fabulae et Publii Syri Sententiae, 1729. The fables of Phaedrus, with selected extracts of the Opinion of the Syrian People. Written by Gaius Julius Phaedrus, a Roman fabulist and the first versifier of a collection of Aesop's fables into Latin. Bound in full straight grained morocco. Externally, sound with rubbing and light bumping to the extremities. Minor loss to the head and tail of the spine with small cracks to the joints. The odd small mark to the boards. Front hinge starting but firm. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright with the odd small spot and minor age toning to the endpapers. Good . Ill.: None. Good .
