Myles Birket Foster was a famous Victorian illustrator and watercolourist, known for his charming landscapes of a rural nature. Illustrated with fifteen illustrations. Each plate is accompanied with a different poetical verse, from poets including Aird, Bloomfield, Crabbe, Baillie, and others.Collated, complete.With the bookplate of George Fleming. Bound in the publisher's original green cloth. Externally, sound, with rubbing to the extremities causing small areas of loss to cloth. Slight fraying to the head and tail of the spine, with the occasional mark to boards. Front hinge has failed after the front endpaper, with previous evidence of tape repair. Internally, generally firmly bound, a little strained in places, with cords occasionally visible. Pages are bright, with the odd handling mark. Collated, complete. Bookplate to front paste down.
