This historical novel is set during the later half of the fourteenth century and the first half of the fifteenth century and is a story of Wat Tyler's insurrection. Written by George Alfred Henty, an English novelist and war correspondent best known for his works of adventure fiction and historical fiction. Illustrated by William Henry Margetson, a British painter and illustrator, mainly known for his aesthetic portraits of women. As cited in the G. A. Henty Bibliography by Peter Newbolt, the date only appeared on the first edition. Publisher's advertisements to the rear. In the original pictorial cloth binding. Externally, smart with light rubbing and minor bumping to the extremities. Minor fading to the spine with the odd small mark to the boards. Internally, firmly bound with the frontispiece detached but present. Pages are very bright with the odd small spot. Light age toning to the extremities with ink inscription to the half title. Good .
