Comprised of a long series of letters between English poet and author Edward Fitzgerald with his life-long friend, the British actress Fanny Kemble. Fitzgerald was best known for his famous translation of The Rubaiyat of Omar Khayyam. These letters span from 1871 to within three weeks of Fitzgerald's death in 1883.Illustrated with ten plates.Compiled by English editor, William Aldis Wright. Bound by Riviere in half morocco with cloth boards. Externally, lovely, with light rubbing to the head of the front joint.
