A scarce poem discussing literature, delivered at Yale University upon the author's receiving his M.A. The first edition of this uncommon work.This is a sprightly poem discussing the state of literature at the turn of the century, by a Connecticut lawyer, Warren Dutton, who delivered this poem when he received an M.A. at Yale.Bookplate of C. Fiske Harris to the front paste down. Harris was an impressive collector of American literature, a bibliography published in 1875 crediting him with owning 4,129 volumes. After his death the library was donated to the Brown University Library. Bookplate of Henry B. Anthony to the rear paste down. Anthony was a newspaperman and political figure of the United States, who was elected to the Senate by the Rhode Island Legislature five times. In a half straight grain morocco binding with marbled paper to the boards. Externally, generally smart, a little rubbed. Bookplate and labels to the paste downs. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are age-toned and clean, with a couple of scattered spots. Very Good . Ill.: None. Very Good .
