An interesting collection of private and open letters that criticised the Hanoverian government under King George III. First published in two volumes in 1772, this is a scarce Huddersfield printing, dated 1798.Written anonymously by an individual who referred to himself only as 'Junius&apos. Some have claimed Junius to be British politician and pamphleteer, Philip Francis, though his identity has never been officially confirmed.With the bookplate of I. W. Vidler to the front pastedown In a full calf binding. Significant rubbing to back strip and board perimeters. Head of each joint starting, with hinges reinforced with cloth and firmly held. Bookplate to front pastedown. Internally, firmly bound. Pages clean and bright, with the odd marginal pencil notation. Good . Ill.: None. Good .
