What is intriguing that after the Elizabethan supposed origin of this myth of Prince Madoc it was still so vibrant three centuries later in America as even spoken of here, and tales of first hand experiences by some actual Welsh speakers from Wales who had his own experience such as Francis Lewis who signed the Declaration of Independence for New York (His estate in Queens was near where I am from) George Washington even called him "A right prudent Whig"!
